MY WORST ORDEAL EVER!
Been having on-off fever since last Saturday (31st Oct) till now. Seen doc for 4 times. Took countless number of medicines. Had high fever of 38.7 degrees after I came back from work yesterday. Went to see my GP and he wrote me a referral letter to the A&E. Fever for more than 8 days must go to the hospital for tests to find out what's wrong. I suspected H1N1.
Reached A&E at 9pm++ with baby. My parents were on their way. Took my temperature: 37.8 degrees. They sent me to the fever facility and was isolated in Room 13. Baby and my parents had to wait outside.
Sat on the chair for a very long time. I wasn't wearing my watch and the clock in the room had stopped. There was a chair, sink, tissue dispenser. a small bed with blanket and a trolley table in the room. Air-con was on full blast and I was very very cold. Mum brought my jacket and asked the nurse to pass it to me.

Nothing to do in the isolation room.
The only plus side was I had my phone with me and was busy sms-ing my baby and mum. That kept me entertained. After waiting for about 1 hour, the doctor finally came in. She asked questions regarding my symptoms. She told me to lie on the bed as she needed to take a blood test. She poked my wrist and I felt a burning sensation. After a while she told me "Sorry" and went to poke at my vein near the part of your arm where you can bend it. Another burning sensation and pain. She said to ask the nurse to X-ray my lungs and put me on the drip.

Look at the blood stain on my arm. Arm was numb la.
Asked my parents and baby to go home as I don't know how long do I have to wait. They insisted on waiting for me. Waited and waited for the X-ray. The doctor popped in and asked, "Have you taken your X-ray?" I shook my head.
After about 15 minutes my X-ray was taken. I had to take off my bra for the X-ray but I couldn't put it back on after the X-ray as my arm was hurting. I tried and tried but I couldn't. I had no choice but to tahan the pain and quickly put it on. Ouch!
After another 30 mins the doc popped in and asked, "Eh? The nurse didn't give you the drip?" I said "No." She went off again. I never got the drip at all. At about 11:30PM the doc came in and told me the results. It was not H1N1. I had upper respiratory tract infection. She gave me antibiotics and said I can go home soon. I had to wait for the nurse to come and take out the thingy on my arm.
Waited and waited again for 20 minutes. The nurse came in and asked,"Who put that on your arm? My colleague?" I told her,"No, your doctor." She went silent and went out to get the stuff to remove the thingy.
Finally I can go home. Doc gave me 3 days MC but the date stated 10 Nov, 11 Nov, 12 Nov. When I discharged, it was already midnight 11 Nov. So weird the dates. 10 Nov was already over and I'm in the hospital ma, still need to give MC meh??? Might as well put 2 days 11 Nov and 12 Nov. Lol.
Anyway my fever has subsided but still having runny nose and cough. Hope I recover soon.
Thanks to all who care and love me.

Guess who???
LOL! Not bad for a first attempt!
